Some Army Updates

So this is just some updates on my 40k armies and things I'm working on for them.

First up, a couple of things for my Lamenters!

The Rhino for my tactical squad

The WIP on my Sanguinary Priest

My Eldrad Uthran stand in. I'm quite happy with him! Just needs a few extra details.

 Kitbashed Wraithguard
Primary part is Necron Immortals, then I cast up a few peices that I built to make them more Wraithguard-y
I'm quite happy with them.

Dragon's Keep Lehi, Apocalypse Game

Here are some pictures I took of the Apoc game we played on 4 Jan at Dragon's Keep in Lehi, UT!

It was Eldar and Guard versus Chaos and Necrons. We didn't bother to total up points as everything but the titans was pretty much fodder.
A view of the battle field from MEV. Between the legs of our Warlord Titan looking at the oncoming Chaos Banelord.

Necrons holed up in the Fortress of Redemption, waiting for a chance to teleport behind enemy lines.

The Imperial/Eldar lines suffered greatly from very large blast templates.

A contingent of Wriaths and Rhinos make a flanking action up the side of the board.

The Monolith was immobilized early on by a Baneblade and made completely useless.

Filling in the gaps to try to prevent those Necrons from teleporting in behind us.

The forces of Chaos attempt to close the gap to bring their close combat weapon to bear on the Warlord titan.

Though Marbo didn't accomplish much (and got himself blasted to death) the Stormtrooper squads managed to lay waste to the Rhinos/Vindicator.

Played a Game

I've actually played a good number of them with my Eldar now, but I took some shots and thought I'd post them here. Maybe I'll even do a battle report sometime! Who knows!

So I like buildings in the terrain. Not a lot. It doesn't have to be a City of Death by any means, but they do make things more interesting.

Here we are after a turn 2 I think. We were playing The Relic from short table ends and my speedy Eldar were very well suited to the table. I was playing against Steve's Tau and they were shooting me to pieces!

The view from the back of my Wave Serpent where my Fire Dragons had just unloaded.

The view of my Fire Dragons from the MASSIVE amount of shots they were about to take.

This is the end of turn 4. My jetbikes swooped in and grabbed the objective, my Dire Avengers managed to defeat the Tau Warlord in melee combat. Netting me a total of 4 VP. Steve ended with 2 points for First Blood and Kill the Warlord. If I hadn't been able to get the objective away I'd have very likely lost. Those Broadsides were making mincemeat of me. Fortunately Night Fight saved me from any first turn salvos.

Up and Coming

I've been in California this last week and so haven't been able to do any modeling or painting.

Though it's been Christmas and I've been hanging out with family and that's just fine.

However, I thought I'd let you know what's coming up in the future for this blog:

I'm adding a second squad of Dire Avengers to my Eldar
A squad of Dark Reapers are going in there as well
Will be finishing up my last War Walker
Going to making a Counts-As Eldrad from the Island of Blood HE Mage

and finally...

WRAITHGUARD! But made from Necron Immortals! The Wraithguard means that I'll also have to paint up my other Warlock as a Spiritseer for them. But I'm okay with that.

I haven't decided yet if I'm going to be painting the other 10 Guardian Defenders I have as Guardians or if I'm going to try converting them into Swooping Hawks and Warp Spiders. I may even try some Striking Scorpions!

I have a few other conversions and kit bashes planned as well. Still no word on my Warp Hunter though :(

NEW STUFF! Yay!

I promised pictures, and I shall deliver. If a man isn't as good as his word, them what good is he?

First off, a couple of Reaper figs that I painted up for my group.

First up is Aric. He's an anit-paladin in our campaign.

Then is a dwarf ranger that I painted up to be my PC in the game.

Now on to the ELDAR!!

Warlock
This is the Warlock that is currently attached to my Guardian Defender squad.

Fire Dragons
I'll hopefully get to see how these guys perform in combat tomorrow night at Dragon's Keep.

Dire Avengers
These are the new ones that I added to fill out my squad to 10 and replace the Exarch with one that can do some damage.

War Walkers
I added two to my 750 pt list for some heavy fire power. The weapons are magnetized, so they aren't on the walkers in these pictures.

Guardian Jetbikes
I converted one to have a Shuriken Catapult heavy weapon.

Next up for the Eldar, a Falcon, another Warlock, and the third War Walker.

I've got more pictures coming in the near future. I promise. I just finished painting up my Fire Dragons, 2 War Walkers, a Warlock, and 6 Dire Avengers.

I've just primed my first Falcon.

BUT! I wanted to make a post to tell you all about something I've found that, if it pans out, will be AMAZING!

So I was looking for Warp Hunter conversion guides, there are some good ones out there, and I found some place selling the Forge World conversion kit for ... get this ... $30. I figured, even if it's JUST the resin conversion kit, that's a good deal. However, the description says that it's the full kit with the Fire Prism kit and the resin conversion pieces. So I ordered one. If it turns out to be legit, then I'll post up their name here so any of my fellow Eldar players can rock Warp Hunters :)

Also, that's not my Warp Hunter

Binge and Splurge

So I've been on a bit of a buying spree lately and I thought I'd let any of my viewers out there know what's coming.

1: LOTS of Eldar

I've got 3 Warwalkers, 2 Wave Serpents, 2 Falcons, 10 Guardians, 10 Dire Avengers, 7 Fire Dragons, 2 Jet Bikes, and 2 Warlocks waiting to go.

2: Lamenters

I've decided I must have a Space Marine chapter. I've decided to play Lamenters with a Blood Angel codex and see where it goes from there. If the next BA codex sucks, then I'll switch them over to vanilla marines. Shouldn't be too big a change.

I may have accidentally ruined my base molds for my Eldar, which means I either have to make new molds (more likely) or start making all my bases by hand again (not likely). Plus, I could probably use the practice.
